Creation Sunday Series: Be Thou My Vision

bethoumyvision

This is the song that was in my head the morning that my friend’s daughter graduated …. and they played this song during the graduation. Don’t you love it when God gives you a little tidbit multiple times, as if He means it just for you? I just love old hymns. This is one of […]

Instagram Tips and 13 Years of AWESOME

weird via @sprittibee

Yesterday came and went like any other day. Quietly, my little online space turned 13. My blog is a teenager, y’all! And not only that, she was born before Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram were even in diapers. I don’t mean to brag, y’all, but she’s been my trusty sidekick… helping me get all my weirdness […]

Scrapings of the Brain Pan: Favorite Robert Frost Journal Notes and Quotes

Miles to Go

I copied down a few “lessor known” morsels of Robert Frost’s brain dribble (or as he called it, “Scrapings of the Brain Pan”) from one of his published journals a few years ago and it happened across my desk this week as I moved little slips of paper from pile to pile. The little things […]

Teaching to Learn

I Teach, Therefore I Learn

I seriously considered naming this post “That time I was swallowed by a Creative Writing English IV syllabus…” but I go to blog conferences, y’all, and I’ve learned that Google doesn’t like your puns. Just the facts, m’am. If I hear another person ask me, “What do you think people are going to Google to […]

Nature as a Teaching Tool

I have been inspired by so many other great nature-loving homeschool bloggers to join in the fun and begin our own nature journals. We have added nature walks to our list of “to-do” items each day since my schedule re-vamp… but sadly, we haven’t been walking. I think we will start today. I’m eager to […]

Faith

Faith is the assurance of what we have not yet seen. It shapes our world-view and leads us to answers for all of life’s questions. It gives us purpose and hope. It sheds light on the proper way to conduct our lives and gives us a rich heritage with many mentors to help when we […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
