If You Are On the Fence About Homeschool Conventions

Texas Homeschool Coalition Called to Teach Convention 2018 via @sprittibee

Even though I’m “just the photographer” at the homeschool conventions I go to each year, I thought I would share my own experiences with how I benefit from them as a homeschool mama. Of course, that is my main job, even though it doesn’t pay the bills. I wanted to dispel the myth that I […]

Ode to Not Giving Up, Otherwise Titled: Homeschool Graduation

Never Give Up @sprittibee

June has come again. Two years ago this time of year, I was helping my then 19 year old son finish up his last few senior projects and course work so he could graduate. We were in the thralls of convention season here in Texas and I was taking photos for THSC… two conventions in […]

What a Homeschool Mama Needs : A Reminder to BREATHE

Just Breathe

Sometimes I hold my breath. Maybe it’s my reaction to stress that I’ve built up over the years so I could keep moving and not think about it. Maybe it’s holding on to life so hard that my soul’s knuckles are bare and my body doesn’t breathe out of respect. When I’m not breathing, though… […]

Ode to Homeschool Mothers…

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I– I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. – Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken Every now and then, when I need a little boost, I pull out this old essay and re-read it. It was sent to me by a […]

How is a Homeschool Mom Like a Mathematician?

But mathematics is the sister, as well as the servant, of the arts and is touched with the same madness and genius. ~Harold Marston Morse How is a homeschool mom a mathematician? It’s not because she appears a bit mad at times, and borders on obsessed with her job. And most of us aren’t wearing […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
