Pizza Salad and a Menu

Pizza Salad by Sprittibee

There will be a recipe in this post; I promise. First, I have to digress… Talk about glitchy. I accidentally posted this draft last night when I went to save it. Ha! So today, you have the udpated version and an idea of how long it really takes a post to make it to viability […]

Rancho Paella

Rancho Paella by @sprittibee

I’m not sure this is really paella, but it’s yummy, all the same. The legit form of Paella is : “a Spanish dish of rice, saffron, chicken, seafood, etc., cooked and served in a large shallow pan.” Instead of Spanish, this dish is more Mexican in flavor… and instead of saffron, there’s plenty of chili […]

Yogurt Bowls and Other Yogurt Recipes

Yogurt Snack by @sprittibee

Lately my new kick is the yogurt bowl trend. I admit, sometimes I put it on a plate… or eat it out of a yogurt cup… but the yogurt bowl idea is superb. It’s like cereal… with yogurt instead of milk… and topping choices instead of cereal. OK, so maybe it isn’t like cereal. In […]

How to Shop Healthy (and an Ode to Natural Grocers)

Natural Grocers by @Sprittibee

I’ve seen these articles lately popping up in my email box: “What is clean eating?”, “What Diet is Best”, “The Truth About Sugar Substitutes”. It seems that everyone WANTS to eat right, but not a lot of people know what eating right looks like. Even now, I hear people talk about avoiding meat, or eating […]

My Ever Evolving Anti-Cancer Diet and Natural Protocol

Let's Taco Bout It by @sprittibee

I truly believe what Mark Twain said about health books… “You might die of a misprint”. I take most everything with a grain of salt and mull it over with prayer. That said, I have read and researched my brains out after being diagnosed with stage THREE cancer last August. I get a lot of […]

A Healthier Version of Egg Salad

Sprittibee's Egg Salad

I have always loved egg salad. I used to go in and request it at Jason’s Deli even though it wasn’t on the menu and they would sometimes make it for me, depending on the location. Eggs and I have had a rocky relationship in the past, and I realized after learning more about eating […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
