Homeschool Hacks for the Library … and a Grief Observed

bookface (image not mine) @sprittibee

I’ve spent the last few days cataloging my book cases on GoodReads. I discovered recently that the app allows you to scan books with your smart phone by the UPC or the front cover “art”. I tried it out, mesmerized by how well it worked. I would say about 1 of 20 books on my […]

Charlotte Mason for the Daft (and a book give-away)

At the Book Store

I’ve been toying with Charlotte Mason for nearly a decade. I’ve “known” about her methods for longer than that. I have never been able to totally put myself in the Charlotte Mason box, though, even after becoming a bona fide veteran homeschool mom with a homeschool high school graduate attending college. In hopes that I […]

Advent Begins 2016

Amaryllis Christmas Flowers

I know it’s been a while since I blogged… in fact, I think this past November was the very first month I didn’t blog AT ALL since I began blogging in 2005. I am sure you can imagine, that a cancer diagnosis changes a lot of things, and I just let my blog take a […]

Pre-Summer Update

Texas Wildflower Photos Edit by @Sprittibee

May flowers are in full bloom and I grasp at moments to try and slow down enough to smell them. They say the older you get, the faster time goes. My eldest has a friend that has some sort of theory on the matter. It’s all over my head. Mama has been tired for most […]

Swapping Books Instead of Buying Them – Just Pay Postage!

I’m sure that you’ve probably heard of Paperback Swap by now, but I just had to share about it in case you haven’t. I love swapping books and finding things that our local libraries don’t carry. Ever notice how hard it is to find good books that are recommended by your history curriculum these days? […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
