BIG LIST of HOMESCHOOL FIELD TRIPS

Big List of Homeschool Field Trips via @sprittibee

We’ve been a great many field trips in all the years I’ve homeschooled. We started homeschooling in 2001. I began blogging about it in 2005, and many of our field trips have been documented in some fashion here. I still have a ton to get blogged, but homeschooling got ahead of me – my eldest […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum

Bob Bullock Texas History Museum @Sprittibee

I was looking something up on the computer the other day and tried to find a post on my blog for someone about the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (because we’ve gone there umpteen times and it is one of my VERY FIRST A-LIST field trips to suggest to anyone visiting Austin)… and lo, […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: Laguna Gloria and Camp Mabry in Austin

Laguna Gloria - image by Matthew Fuller

Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria Museum is on the US National Register of Historic Places. It was built on land that was originally owned by Stephen F. Austin (whose name was taken for the Capital of Texas). The beautiful Italian inspired “villa” on the site was built later on by Clara Driscoll and her husband […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: Chisholm Trail Days

Chuck Wagon Kids

A few years ago, when my little wranglers were knee-high to a grasshopper, I took them to the Chisholm Trail Days in Georgetown, Texas. They wrote a little blurb about it in the Georgetown View the year after we went if you wanted to get a glimpse of what it might have been like when you […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: Austin Steam Train Association’s Hill Country Flyer

Chickie and the Train Gang @sprittibee

ALL ABOARD!!!! If you love riding on the rails, the “Cedar Park train” is a field trip you won’t want to miss. Rail travel is so relaxing. You can learn about history, take in the scenery, or just kick back and take a snooze with the monotonous clickety-clack of the rails and the breeze in […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: The Fire Station

Fire Station Field Trip

It’s been a while since I did my field trip series here. It started back in 2005 with my big kids when they were in their field trip crazy days, and I have done field trip reviews on and off for years… but with my older two in high school and the little guys too […]

Field Trip Foto Friday: Austin Aquarium

On the Northwest side of Austin, there’s a small aquarium that hosts stingrays, small sharks, reptiles, exotic birds, and tank after tank of interesting marine life. They even have a touch tank and most of the entire site is set up for the young (and young at heart). A few years or so ago, we […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
