Creation Sunday Series: Space and Time

juno jupiter pix via NASA

My boys are really interested in outer space. My youngest has a fascination (and addiction) to the app “Star Chart”. Each one of my boys has gone through a solar system phase – some longer than others – in their lives. We have what seems like three or four whole shelves in our homeschool library […]

Do you believe in fate? Texas firewheels by @sprittibee

I found this tiny little draft post today while doing some blog housework and it was too good not to share… I’d love it if you share your crazy stories like this with me in the comment section below! I love it when tiny everyday miracles happen. – – – – – – My husband […]

Ask a Homeschooler: How Do You Celebrate the Sabbath?

The Goses

This is a guest post by a homeschool mom, curriculum writer, farmer’s wife, and chicken-lover (she even rents her chickens, y’all). I know you will be as blessed by it as I have by getting to know her and learning about her family’s habit of celebrating every Saturday for the Sabbath: Why DO we celebrate […]

How to Please God

A friend of mine, Beth Zimmerman, asked me a couple of years ago to write for her on a group blog that was sharing the about the heroes of the Christian faith and seeking to help people learn about each of them. She had a vision to write devotionals taking the reader down through the list […]

A Slow December (and why that’s not such a bad thing)

Christmas Tree

Ever get the feeling that God is intentionally slowing you down? Well that’s where I’m at this 2015 Advent season. I started out on a roll, getting the tree up before Advent started… then… I caught the same cold that my four year old has had THREE times now since early November. We’ve been down […]

My November Roof Story

I’m sorry for the informality, but I have been just soaking in life lately and catching it as it comes, so there will be no grand lessons or tips from me. I am not sure I ever imagined that life would be as busy as it is right now with two teenagers and two youngsters, […]

Teaching Kids to Care for Those Who are Less Fortunate: Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

It is hard to read the news these days with what is happening in the middle east. There are people being tortured, killed, separated from family, and children being sold into a life of slavery. Their pain is beyond what I can comprehend. Not just in this time of crisis with the fanatical soldiers of […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
