One Week After the Texas Homeschool Coalition Convention…

THSC Photographer Gang

I was clueless as to what all last year would bring me in the hot July summer as I set out to the Texas Homeschool Coalition Convention last year. As their photographer, it has been an event that we have looked forward to as a family for nearly a decade now, and I have grown […]

Micro-Blogging, Creativity, and Renovations

Sprittibee's Mulberry Tree

I’ve been getting requests to buy my blog from random people on the internet, so I figured it was time to quit ignoring you in here and say something. To be honest, I have been doing my best to live life to the fullest and with all that is happening in my world right now […]

Beatitudes for Parents

What a Friend we Have in Jesus

I get a lot of junk mail, email, and information pushed at me as a blogger and homeschool mom – and let’s face it – as a human being. This week, however, as I got ready to trash another newsletter I didn’t have time to read, a date caught my eye in small print. 1895. […]

How to Stay on the Homeschool Train (When you Feel Like Getting Off)

Should you get off the homeschool train?

A friend of mine came to me this week in private and told me she wanted to get off the homeschool train. She asked me if I had ever thought of quitting. I admitted to her that it was a constant battle with me, but I had felt that God was really calling me to […]

Of Prodigals

Mommy and Meesa

I’ve been homeschool blogging since 2005. I started homeschooling when my kids were 2 and 4. I’ve been at it a loooong time, and now my eldest son is graduating at 19. BUT – if you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I have TWO teenagers, not just one. My daughter is […]

What a Homeschool Mama Needs : A Reminder to BREATHE

Just Breathe

Sometimes I hold my breath. Maybe it’s my reaction to stress that I’ve built up over the years so I could keep moving and not think about it. Maybe it’s holding on to life so hard that my soul’s knuckles are bare and my body doesn’t breathe out of respect. When I’m not breathing, though… […]

My November Roof Story

I’m sorry for the informality, but I have been just soaking in life lately and catching it as it comes, so there will be no grand lessons or tips from me. I am not sure I ever imagined that life would be as busy as it is right now with two teenagers and two youngsters, […]

Spritti Who?

Howdy. I'm Heather.

I'm a Christian Wife, Foodie, Writer, Homeschool Teacher, Artist....

OH YEAH, I'm also a Professional Event, Portrait, Art & Wedding Photographer - (which currently is the only job I get paid for).

I'm also a DIY amateur, Gourmet Cook on a mission to eat clean with good reason - I was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2016 (read: bona-fide health nut), and I have a cacti collection that is bordering on a business... a hobby farm we are just now beginning as a new adventure for our family... and of course, as you might expect living in rattlesnake country, I'm a gun-toting Native Texan (Yeehaw!)

I've been trapping Google-searchers here since 2005.

Bless your little heart. I'm so glad you stopped by.
