I like lists. I like labels. I like to stack, sort, file, box, hole-punch, binderize, record, scrapbook, and organize. Everything in it’s place and a place for everything. Isn’t that how the saying goes?
Homeschooling requires a great deal of WORK in the organizational department. I’m by no means ‘organized’, but I do spend a HUGE amount of time TRYING to be. Probably too much time. I admit that it can become sort of an OCD obsession.
This year I have decided to focus on perfecting my organizing by marrying it with SIMPLIFICATION. That’s kind of an ongoing goal that I grandfathered from last year… which will help me to live out my 2010 motto:
“Live on Purpose”
Having a plan is necessary if you want to accomplish a goal. Plans are orderly. Order requires organization.
Painful, I know. But if you take small steps, you might just find that you like getting organized. It feels good to get rid of clutter, give things away, have things in their own place and easy to find, and to have clean surfaces to work on.
Join me as I talk about finding order in a homeschool house… at Complete Organizing Solutions.

Organizing is not my favorite thing to do, but I do it to survive. I have a room dedicated to homeschool. Every summer I get ready for the new year by packing up old books or selling them at the nearby homeschool book store. Love that place! I work on my semester plans which keep us on course. It seems weekly I am cleaning that dedicated homeschool room *sigh* The best thing is my kids have their folders and google calendar printed for the week. Organizing is not only folders and shelves. It is organizing our time so that we are efficient in our day and I keep my sanity! 🙂

I like to be organized too! We're going to be taking time over the next week or so to go through the house and organize and clean really well. I wanted to get that done before we started in our spring semester of school.
Hope you're having a great week!
